NADC’s Head Start program began in the 1960’s and was staffed almost entirely with parents of enrolled children.

Over the years the idea that parents know the needs and resources of their communities better than anyone else is still a guiding principal of NADC Head Start. Some of those first parents are still involved in the program and many more have and are serving the program well as staff and volunteers. It is this involvement and commitment of the families and local communities that has kept the program responsive to the needs of the communities served.

All our centers are recognized as Quality Approved by the state of Arkansas. To attain this recognition a center must pass an extensive assessment of the facility, teaching staff and daily curriculum. The schools, communities, volunteers and staff all have to work together for us to attain this level of quality.
